Enjoy the best games

Of Mexican fairs like a pro!

Freshwater with exotic flavors, mariachi, folkloric dances and a lot of cultures, Mexico is full of traditions that you’ll love as soon you get in touch with them. It won’t matter if you can’t understand them at all.

The whole world knows that Mexicans are in love with party, but not all of our parties have to have alcohol and dancing, we know how to have fun without them! A great place to get in touch with Mexican culture and tradition are the Mexican fairs. Here I’ll explain to you how to play the Mexican fair games like a pro.

1.- Marbles:

Easy and fun! You just have to throw 5 big marbles into a table with a lot of holes. Each one of them has a different value. At the end of the game, you have to sum the total of the points where all your marbles got stuck. The top score is 250 points. Will you get all of them? At the end of the game, you’ll be able to change your points for some pretty gift like a teddy bear or another toy. This might be the most popular of the Mexican fair games.

2.- Target shooting:

Alejandro Lugo

Have you ever tried your aim? Well, this is your opportunity. With an utterly safe rifle, you’ll have to shoot little metal divs standing at 6 or 7 inches away. If you hit the target every time, you can get a classic prize from the Mexican fair games!

3.- Fishing:

Retratista de paisajes y paisanajes

This is the most difficult of all Mexican fair games, and don’t worry, you won’t hurt any animal because they don’t even breathe. In a tub full of water you’ll find little plastic fishes or ducks that you’ll have to pick up with your rod. It sounds easy but, believe me, it is more difficult than you think.

4.- Darts:

My favorite of the Mexican fair games! It’s basically like any other dart game but you will find different variations depending on the fairs and places you play it. The one I enjoy the most is the one where you have to pop one of many balloons pinned on a cork wall. The price depends on which balloon you get to burst.

5.- Lottery:

Consuelo

This is a historical game because it was created during the Mexican Revolution. You have to pick one of 5 different sheets with 9 elements. Every one of them has a different combination of factors. Another person will yell all the available images, and the winner is the one who completes his sheet first.

6.- Futbolito (soccer game):

Mexico’s most popular sport has to be part of the Mexican fairs. Here you have to play a match 1 vs. 1 or 2 vs. 2. The game consists of one table with little plastic soccer players which you manage with sticks. The one who scores more goals wins.

7.- Civil registration:

This Mexican fair game is, probably, the most difficult of all. Not because you need a particular skill, just because it implies to ask that girl you like or love, to marry you. Everybody knows that it’s a joke, but trust me, it’s more difficult than it sounds.

8.- Rings:

The rings sound like an easy game, but trust me, if you feel confident with your aim and ability on Mexican fair games, this one will be a good challenge for you. You’ll have 3 or 4 opportunities to make one ring get stuck into one of the many bottles standing on a table. Try it, one, two, or three times, it won’t be easy.
