La Isla Shopping Village
In Mexico, going to walk to a mall is one of the most common hobbies that’s why this place is perfect. This mall is located on the Nichupte Lagoon and has navigable canals that cross its entire length. In its corridors, you can find from pirates to the popular cookie monster.
It has a small pier from where you can admire the sunsets. There are restaurants, boutiques, ice cream shops, coffees, even a colorful fountain that is the fascination for the kids.
Located near the center of Cancun, this avenue was chosen by a group of visual artists to be the cradle of the first murals in the city. On Nader Avenue, you can walk through walkways and streets with fish names to discover amazing creations.
The streets chosen for these wonderful works were: Huachinango Street, Mojarra Street, Barracuda Street, Mero Street and Robalo Street. Besides the Murals, Nader Avenue is a popular location for restaurants and coffees making it a great place to visit.
What would Mexico be without its colorful markets? One of the first places that existed in Cancun is called Market 23 or Mercado 23. Here, local producers offer every day from flowers to handicrafts but you can also find a lot of small restaurants to try the delicious cuisine of the peninsula.
Walking through its corridors while you are guided by your curiosity is an experience. If you visit it, we recommend you try the local fruits such as Pitahaya, which is one of the tastiest we have in this region of Mexico.
On the Bonampak avenue, there are big murals on old apartment buildings. Each creation addresses a theme and sends a message to who admires it. But these avenues were only the beginning of this initiative, nowadays several schools in the area have joined to these spaces of expression.
But the buildings are only part of this artistic intervention because also the bridges nearby were used as canvases to create more murals.
If there is a place that you should visit in Cancun is Plaza Bonita. This little corner of the city is right on what was the edge of the city a long time ago. Here you can find places with crafts from various parts of Mexico as well as some of the best seafood restaurants in the city.
